I spent about 4 months here recovering from knee surgery. The care staff is great and will make you laugh and are responsible with handling your injury carefully. The PT and OT staff are awesome. They know how to target problem areas and get your body feeling better. I credit them for helping me walk again. 1 star off for the food. I didn’t expect exceptional food but this food was bad, ranging from edible to gross. Have your family leave something in the patient refrigerator.

I saw many positive reviews on this facility and thought this is the perfect or at least a great facility ….. I am posting this review in Hopes someone will contact me as i have made several calls regarding my person, no one as yet returned any of my calls My person Said no one gets him out of bed he is getting bed sores, is very stiff and sore. He was sent there for recovery and occ therapy He has been there 10 days When he has visitors, they say they cannot wake him up He sounds worse, unfortunately, I had to go out of state and cannot personnally see what is going on or talk to someone in person, that is why i call but no one returns my calls Note: it has been over two weeks and no one at this facility has yet to contact me in regards to my review i see other reviews have responses
I had to wait a while to leave this review until my pure fury at how my husband was treated during the 8 weeks he was with Rossmoor Post Acute had eased so that I could leave an honest review. The three stars I gave them was strictly for the care team. The nurses, the CNAs and the PT and OT people are wonderful, deeply caring people and committed to what they do. The problem is they are hampered both by appallingly bad internal communication and lack of support to get what they need done so that they could do their jobs. My husband has Parkinson’s and the first thing they tell you when you get a diagnosis like that is that you must keep moving. If you stop moving, you lose movement and you’re going to be stuck in a bed for the rest of your life. My husband is only 67. He went into John Muir hospital for 2 days and was released to Rossmoor Post Acute. When he went in he could walk using a walker. Not well. He stumbled a bit but he could walk. He could get himself from his chair to the toilet, toilet to bed, bed to chair, etc. But he was mobile and he could take care of himself. When he came out 8 weeks later he could no longer move without a two-person lift and assistance. At the moment he cannot walk and he cannot take care of himself. We were 4 weeks into his stay, when I asked for an update about what was holding up his coming home I was told he needed more PT and they needed more time. So I said okay…. two more weeks. The two weeks came and left and I went again to talk to the PT and the OT team and I found out that what was happening was his blood pressure was going up and down with tremendous variance. I looked at them and said okay. When’s he going to see his neurologist? When is he going to see his cardiologist? The response was oh you have to do that we don’t. So I hadn’t been told he needed help. I hadn’t been told about his blood pressure and they were using that as an excuse to leave him in bed pretty much 7 days a week except for maybe 15 or 20 minutes during the week for a little bit of PT. Suffice it to say that there was a lot of time in between. I had to arrange for appointments. I had to arrange for transportation and when he was finally told by the doctor he had only seen three times during the entire 8 weeks that he could go to home the following Thursday, we made all of those arrangements. I showed up and guess what? He wasn’t ready to go home because the nursing staff and the social services people had not been told by the doctor he’d been authorized to go home. I decided forget it. I’m taking him home where we can get him people who actually care about him. Social services and the administrators and owners of this facility do not care for patient welfare. It’s that obvious. I told you the nursing staff, the CNAs and the PT/OT are caring people, but since there aren’t enough of them, patients are also left in their beds for hours at a time in wet and dirty diapers. Bottom line for this one is I can’t recommend this place in good conscience. And yes I have filed a report and a complaint with the licensing people. I recommend if you truly care for your loved one, you go someplace else.

Our Mom has been there a few months now and was released yesterday.I am updating my original review. The staff has been very proactive in addressing my concerns lately. She’s was getting her physical therapy and speech therapy on a regular basis. On another note all my Moms clothes disappeared twice and they promised to reimburse me if I had the receipt . I did give them the receipts for her second set of clothes but no reimbursement so far. Said they were waiting for corporate? Today I received a check for lost items and I was impressed with that.
